The use of Problem Based Learning to improve students’ speaking ability

چکیده
Speaking skill is one of the basic language skills that has important role for oral communication. This study attempts to find out whether implementation Problem Based Learning (PBL) could enhance students’ speaking at Darul Ulum Islamic Boarding, Banda Aceh. The population this was students from second grade Senior High School sample in class II-IPA I as experimental group and II control group. Through quantitative method, writer analysed data by means t-test.The result shows there a significant difference taught implementing Learning.The mean pre-test’s score 51.64. Then post-test, 63.64. In other words, successfully enhanced students. Therefore, may be appropriate teaching methods improve English-speaking ability it gives chance relate themselves with real-life issues require solutions.
